The HPC(Health Professions Council) proposals outlined during their CPD (Continuing Professional Development) consultation period, outlined a process whereby a health professional could undertake a wide range of CPD activities, from a professional body scheme (should they be a member of one), to reflective practice, on-the-job learning and journal reading. The professional themselves decides on which CPD activities best suit them, along with the method of learning. If selected for audit by the HPC at the time of their registration renewal they would be asked to demonstrate through a written profile how this activity had benefited their practice".
You need to collate your CPD activities into a Professional Development Record to enable you to recall what CPD you have undertaken so that you can fulfill the HPC requirements regarding written profiles.
The branch has developed an Electronic and a Paper version of a 'Professional Development Record' which Chiropodists/Podiatrists can use to record their development and their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This will allow you to print and store your development in preparation for producing a Professional Profile should the HPC request one from you prior to re-registration.
